Tagline Roulette - Volume I, Edition 19 - "North"

For those of you that regularly follow this blog, you would've already noticed that I've been uncharacteristically silent for over a week.  There's a very good reason for this, actually more than one.  For the past nine days I've been in the process of moving (reason #1) and during that time, not only did I not have time to blog, I was without internet for a couple of days (reason #2).

Nuff said!

Moving on...

For those of you that are new to this blog, or have otherwise not been paying attention, I have a list of words, currently numbered at 136, and each week I go to an online random number generator to get...(Wait for it!)...a  randomly generated number! Normally I use this number to point me to the tag word that I'll use to search for images by Etsy POE Team members that will populate that week's feature. This week, there's a twist...this week I'm using that word to focus on Etsy photographers of the NON-POE Team variety.  Why?  Why not?  We POE'ers don't have a corner on photographic talent, and who knows, maybe this will encourage some of our uninitiated bretheren and sisteren to join our ranks; we'll see.

This week my randomly generated number pointed me to the word "North" which produced a list of 30 pages, and 1191 listings.  It's a challenge to reduce that many fine images to a relative handful, but that, as they say, is the nature of the beast.

Originally, my target in this feature was to put together a collection of 10 images or so, but since I don't believe I've ever managed to limit myself to only "10 images", I decided to lift the target number and just go with what I feel.  Ten images is now my minimum, and my maximum depends on the number of images in the pool and how I feel about things.  I don't want to feature so many images that folks might get bored looking at them, and once I start approaching 20 images, posting them starts to get to be a drag, so now my limit falls somewhere between "10" and "folks might get bored / this is getting to be a drag".

This week we ended up with a collection of 20 images.  Please take a look; I hope you enjoy them as much as I have!

Oh, and as always, please feel free to send me your word suggestions; the list is by no means limited to 136.

Peace.

Steve

Worth a Look (The View From The "Big End") - Vol I Edition 28

If you're reading this, chances are pretty darn good you're up to speed on what's goin' on.  If, however, you're new here (and that's perfectly OK...welcome!), here's the deal: I enjoy looking at photographs (I'm a photographer...go figure!), and on a regular basis I'll go wandering through the listings for the Photographers Of Etsy to do just that...look at photographs. I frequent the "Big End" because I want to catch them before they expire, give them another chance at discovery if you will.  Here are just a few of the images I found this week toward the big end of the list that I felt were worth a look.  Enjoy!

(Note:  The "Big End" is what I call the the oldest of the POE listings. To get there, do a search on Etsy under "All Items" for "poe team".  You will get a list of somewhere around 400 or 500 listings; the "Big End" is the end of the list with the highest numbers, and these are the ones about to drop off and expire.)

Tagline Roulette - Volume I, Edition 18 - "Color"

I have a list of words, currently numbered at 136, and each week I go to an online random number generator to get...(Wait for it!)...a  randomly generated number! I use this number to point me to the tag word that I'll use to search for images by Etsy POE Team members that will populate that week's feature. This week that word turned out to be "Color" which produced a list of 43 pages, and 1704 listings.

This week we ended up with a collection of 24 images.  Please take a look; I hope you enjoy them as much as I have!

Oh, and as always, please feel free to send me your word suggestions; the list is by no means limited to 136.

Peace.
